Abbey`s Desk Round 2 coming SATURDAY NIGHT!! Here`s the lineup --
Brian Laidlaw:
Brian Laidlaw is a poet-songwriter, and frontman of the folk ensemble The Family Trade. His lyrics have appeared in American Songwriter Magazine and he`s been a songwriting consultant on multiple Grammy-winning albums. Brian has put out books and records with a variety of publishers and labels, and he moonlights (often literally) as a rock climber.
taft:
taft is a texas based singer and songwriter with a penchant for high notes and good, strong tea. he loves travelling, the best songs come when travelling. most things annoy him but the healing power of music and the constant reminder of our limited time on this planet serve to balance that annoyance. he lives in a trailer with a feral cat named twiggy underneath it
hemlock:
Carolina Chauffe is a neighbor, and the swamp-raised, self-taught, multi-disciplinary creative force behind the "phone-fi" alt-folk project hemlock, with current anchors between Chicago, Austin, and New Orleans.
They are an avid documenter, an amateur archivist, and a believer in magic, with a discography spanning hundreds of songs in half a decade. This is means-to-an-end modern-day folk art for the open-hearted, often accompanied by field recordings, and created in the corners of the intentionally imperfect, eager, prolific.
In addition to hemlock, Carolina has toured with and recorded in such acts as Little Mazarn (2019-present), Babehoven (2022), Fran (2023), and Merce Lemon (2023).
They will be a road dog for as long as they can, and a music-maker for as long as they live.
